About
Hi. I’m Vincent.
Backend engineer by day, hobby cook by weekend. I grew up in a town where the local pub did a proper burger on a Thursday and that was about it, and then I moved to Berlin and everything changed. There’s something about working in a field where you argue about milliseconds for nine hours, then go home and discover the only measurement that actually matters is whether the patty hits 57 degrees in the middle.
This site is where I write down things I’ve figured out, mostly so I don’t forget them. Recipes that worked. Places I ate at and liked. Occasional observations about the metric system and what happens when American fast-food chains try to do math in grams.
There’s no newsletter. There’s no affiliate links. If you want to say hi, you’ll have to find me somewhere else — I deliberately didn’t put contact info here because the last time I did, I got seventeen pitches from CBD oil companies in a week.
Also: I don’t use AI to write these. If the prose is uneven that’s because I wrote it in one sitting after making dinner.
